Import redactions and highlights
There are two types of imported redactions:
Redactions imported from RedactManager preview documents:
Redactions on preview documents created with RedactManager that are uploaded to a dossier are labeled as imported redactions.
Redactions imported from redacted documents:
redactions from redacted documents that are imported into the source version of the document. (It is also possible to import redactions that were not created with RedactManager.)
RedactManager recognizes colored text highlights that were inserted into the document with a text editing program before creating the PDF.
If you have uploaded a highlighted document into a dossier and want to convert the highlights into redactions, open the Highlights view in the Editor. (The view is only enabled if a document contains such highlights.)
Via the Workload, you can convert highlights into redactions or remove them.
Only highlights that have been converted into redactions will be redacted in the final version of your document.
Convert or remove earmarks
Convert highlights:
Click the Convert highlights icon to convert highlights in the respective color into redactions.
A dialog opens.
Choose whether you want to convert only the highlights on the current page or on all pages of the document.
The highlights of the respective color will be converted into redactions.
The highlights disappear from the Highlights view and will be shown as Imported Redactions in the Standard view.
Delete highlights:
Click the Remove highlights icon to remove the highlights of the respective color.
A dialog opens.
Choose whether you want to remove only the highlights on the current page or on all pages of the document.
The highlights of the respective color will be removed.
The highlights disappear from RedactManager.
Good to know:
Use the bulk selection to convert or remove only one or several highlights of a color.
RedactManager does not always display all the editing options. In case of dictionary-based redactions, you can choose from different options than in case of rule-based redactions.
