RedactManager Documentation

Import redactions and earmarks

You can import two types of redactions:

  • Redactions from RedactManager preview documents:

Importing by uploading the preview document to a dossier upload_dark.svg. You can import redactions from preview documents that have been created with RedactManager.

  • Redactions from redacted documents:

Import by importing the redactions into the source document import_redactions.svg. You can also import from documents that have not been redacted with RedactManager.

RedactManager recognizes colored markings and highlights (earmarks) that were inserted into the document with a text editing program before creating the PDF.

If you have uploaded an earmarked document into a dossier and want to convert the earmarks into redactions, open the Earmarks view in the Editor. (The view is only enabled if a document contains such earmarks.)

You can then convert earmarks into redactions or remove them.

Only earmarks that have been converted into redactions will be redacted in the final version of your document.
