Dossiers can be filtered by all properties displayed in the dossier list. In addition, there is also the "Dossier Owner" quick filter, which only displays the dossiers for which the user is the dossier owner. The "Dossier Member" quick filter only displays the dossiers the user has been added to as a member.
Managers and dossier owners can enter the values for the dossier attributes defined by the Admin. Certain file attribute values can trigger certain rules.
Managers can change the dossier owner in the dashboard and in the "Edit Dossier" dialog.
Managers can restore deleted documents within 96 hours. After this period, the documents will be deleted permanently. (96 hours is the default value; admins can change it.)
RedactManager creates dossier dictionaries for each dossiers. Users can access the dictionary editor to add or remove dictionary entries. The added/removed terms will be redacted/unredacted on dossier-level. Dictionary entries are handled automatically during document editing: RedactManager automatically adds/removes relevant dictionary entries when users make manual changes.
The dossier owner can delete a dossier.
The download package is configured when creating and/or downloading a dossier. The user defines which redaction reports will be included in the download package etc.
Users can archive dossiers that have already been submitted. That makes it easier to keep track of active dossiers. Archived dossiers can no longer be edited and cannot be restored. However, users can still access and read.
Users can download the dossier download package containing the redacted documents and the redaction reports. The Redacted PDF is only downloaded for documents in the Approved status.
Users can edit the dossier properties and settings.
Users can only be assigned to a document if they are a dossier member. Users with the manager role can add dossier members and give them the reviewer or approver permission.
Users can select the document types they want to be included in their download package, and decide whether they want to add a watermark to the preview and/or the redacted documents. |

Approvers can download the Redacted PDF version of documents in the Approved status. Other document and report versions can also be downloaded if the documents are in a different status.
Approvers can reset the status of a document (from In Approval to In Review or from Approved to In Approval).
Documents must be uploaded to a Dossier. You will otherwise not be able to process and edit them. Max. file size: 200 MB.
| ||||||
Dossier members can also assign themselves to a document.
Dossier members need to be assigned to a document to be able to review it. The document review follows the 4-eyes principle (reviewer first, approver second). Only users with the respective approver permission can be assigned as the reviewer/approver of a document.
Dossier owners can change the dossier state according to their internal dossier lifecycle. The dossier states can be defined by the Admin.
RedactManager continuously monitors the documents to determine if reanalysis is needed due to changes made by the admin or during document editing. During reanalysis, RedactManager derives from the users' input whether further passages in the document need to be redacted or unredacted. The reanalysis is usually carried out automatically in the background but can also be triggered manually.
The document list offers different filters and quick filters.
Users assigned to a document as reviewers or approvers can disable the automatic reanalysis. It is possible to trigger the reanalysis manually while the auto-analysis is disabled.
Users can download a dossier's CSV report. It provides an overview of the dossier documents and their processing status.
Users can upload preview documents that have previously been created with a redaction tool. The redactions contained in the preview document are then imported into RedactManager.
You can perform OCR (automatic text recognition) on documents. RedactManager automatically removes hidden text during OCR. Once the document has been OCRed, the recognized text is the only hidden text that remains. It is placed over the letter and removed during download to ensure data protection. The admin can also specify in the settings that OCR shall be performed on upload. |

If an automatically generated redaction is wrong in the given context, you can markt it as a false-positive by selecting the "Remove from dossier in this context" option offered in the "Remove" dialog. The term will not be redacted if it appears in the same context in other active and future documents.
RedactManager recognizes colored markings and highlights (earmarks) that were inserted into the document with a text editing program before creating the PDF. Users can access the earmarks view to convert earmarks into redactions or remove them.
The user assigned to a document can add manual redactions.
